Welcome to the 14th edition of the NMLQOTM. This time around, your challenge is to identify the titles and artists of the 25 lyrical snippets below. As always, the songs are presented in alphabetical order by artist. There are many instances where songs have been recorded by multiple artists, but for the purposes of this quiz, only recordings that fit the alphabetical ordering of the list will be scored as correct.

All songs in this particular quiz were released between 1956 and 1988.

I've given the "theme" a vacation again this week, but fear not - there is a new twist featured this time around. Crossword puzzle fans might recognize this as an "acrostic", but even if you're not a puzzle fan, it's easy to do, and I think you'll have some fun, so go ahead and give it a try.

Begin by identifying the titles and artists - I will be scoring the quiz exactly as I usually do. You must provide the exact titles and artist credits that appeared on the appropriate recording. Once you have completed your identification, fill in the blanks below each lyric with that song's title. (JUST THE TITLE)

When you have all of the titles in place, begin to transfer the letters you have filled in to the larger grid at the bottom of this page. For example, if the title of the first lyric below was "SPY FUN", you would fill in the blanks below the lyric with those letters. Notice that the first blank has the number 12 before it. Because the letter "S" is written in the blank numbered 12, you would go down to the grid and place the letter "S" in the space numbered 12. You would have written the letter "P" (of "SPY FUN") into the second blank - this one is numbered 9 - so the letter "P" would be transferred to the 9th space in the grid.

Transfer all of the letters from the titles to the grid in this fashion, and you will find a quote that proves that at least one pop music star has a great big heart. You'll also find the name of the artist who provided this touching sentiment.
