Quiz #11

Welcome to NMLQOTM #11, the mid-March edition of your bi-monthly lyrics quiz. Your challenge, this time, is to identify the titles and artists for the 27 songs I've presented below. Theme detectives rejoice! There's a common theme lurking amongst all 27 songs, and theme-identification is the tie-breaker of first resort.

By now, you know that I'm a miserly point-giver. You'll earn the full 20 points for song and artist only if you provide the exact information contained on the record release. As always, I'm practically giving these answers away by listing the 27 songs in alphabetical order by artist.

All songs in this quiz were released between 1957 and 1989. Many are top forty hits - a few are not.

If you are new to the NMLQOTM - or even if you've played a while now - it's always helpful to review the official rules. Note that precision counts when it comes to scoring the submissions - be sure to give the exact song title and the exact artist attribution for each song; dot your "i"s and cross your "t"s! Watch your p's, q's, commas and "the"s!

The submission deadline for this quiz will be Friday, March 24th at 11:59 pm (eastern).
